Alissa J. Rickborn
I started my career as a marine biologist at Boston University where I studied how environmental gradients shape the distribution of marine sponges on coral reefs. After graduating from BU with my Master’s, I came to Oregon State to further develop my interest in sponge and community ecology. At OSU, I plan to study how environmental stress has led to changes in intertidal sponge communities. Specifically, I am interested in modeling how future environmental conditions may determine the community composition of intertidal ecosystems. When I’m not doing research you can find me swimming, dancing, hiking, or teaching yoga!
